The county meeting. --A very large meeting of the citizens of Henrico county assembled at the Court-House yesterday, for the purpose of considering the question of "memorializing the Legislature to authorize the Court to levy on the people such amount as may be necessary to put the county in an efficient state of defence." The meeting was called to order by Col. J. Lucius Davis, on whose motion Dr. John R. Garnett was called to the chair, and Maj. J. H. Sands appointed Secretary. The object of the meeting was stated by the Chairman with appropriate remarks, after which Col. Davis made a warm speech in favor of supplying the county with adequate means to repel any exigency that might arise. Capt. J. Wilder Atkinson read the report of the committee relative to issuing the bonds of the county for $2,500, which we published last week. W. C.
