--Ranaway, on Monday, a Negro Boy, named Essex, about five feet eight inches high; black; stammers slightly; about twenty or twenty-two years old; weight about 150 pounds; formerly belonged to Capt. John.
Wright, of Plain View P. O., King and Queen county, Va. The above reward will be paid on his delivery to me at my office, in this city.
He may be making his way to West Point, Va. He has a wife in that neighborhood.
His upper teeth are dark, from tartar on them.

--The following is a statement of the transportation for November; 6,000 bushels coal, 50 bbls. fish, 477,313 ft. lumber, 1,030,500 shingles, 270 sacks sult, 24 hhds. tobacco, 1,886 cords wood, 13,159 bushels wheat, 128 bales merchandize, 26 hhds. do.; 22 crates, 45 bales cotton, 753 bags corn, 1,072 bbls. pork, 12 hhds. bacon, 165 bbls. rosin, 88 bbls. whiskey.
Numbers of vessels and boats entered the Dock 76; number passed out 89.

West &Johnston, of this city, is having a most rapid sale, the first large edition being nearly sold out. The work has a ar interest for the times in being an of Washington politics and the intention of the Lincoln war; but, apart from particular interest, the favor with which has met evinces a welcome disposite- the part of the reading public of the to sustain their own library enter- and to take an interest in the evident beginnings of an independent Southern literature.
