Confederate States Congress. Senate.--The Senate met at 12 o'clock M. yesterday. Prayer by the Rev. Dr. Duncan, of the Methodist Church. Mr. Walker, of Ala, offered a resolution requesting the President to inform the Senate what steps had been taken towards the construction of a railroad from Blue Mountain, Ala., to Rome, Ga. Agreed to. Also, a resolution instructing the Military Committee to inquire what legislation is necessary to secure the return to their commands of deserters from the infantry who have enlisted in the cavalry; and of flying by law the time for which soldiers shall be permitted to serve in the cavalry, and of providing that on the expiration of such period they shall be assigned to service in infantry, and their places supplied by these who have served a similar period in the infantry.
