"Ned Buntline" in trouble. --The notorious "Ned Buntline" was arrested in Trey, N. Y., on Wednesday, on a charge of obtaining money ($10) under false pretences. Ned borrowed. The money while on a spree, and gave his check on a bank at Saratoga Springs, where he had no money or account.

His name. --The name of the person shot and killed in a beer saloon in Petersburg, Va., Thursday night, proves to be Osborne McBee. He was a native of Maryland.

The Steamship Yorktown, Capt. Parrish, having been laid up for repairs, is now on the route between this city and New York. The "Yorktown" having been thoroughly repaired, painted, &c., is now in excellent order. The attention of the traveling public is respectfully requested to this cheap and expeditious route to New York, leaving Richmond Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock, via Norfolk.

Conventions of their respective States. On motion, the documents were laid on the table and ordered to be printed. State Defence.--Mr. Smith, of Kanawha, called up the bill appropriating one million of dollars for the defence of the State, which had been returned from the Senate with amendments to which the House had agreed. The pending question was a proviso offered by Mr. Smith that $50,000 of the amount to be expended in fortifications, &c., should be devoted to building an arsenal for arms in the Kanawha Valley, or some locality adjacent. Messrs. Smith, Boreman, Edgixoton, Haymond, Yerby, and Cowan, spoke in favor of the proviso, and Messrs. Bisbie, Crump, Gibson, Chapman, Anderson, and Jones of Gloucester, in opposition thereto. The previous question being demanded, the ayes and noes were called, and resulted in the adoption of the proviso by a vote of 64 ayes to 47 noes. Pending a motion to take up bills on their second reading, The House adjourned.

Armstrong, who had command of the Pensacola (Fla.) Navy-Yard, when a superior force took it from him, passed through Mobile on his way to Washington. The Advertiser says: During his sojourn in the city the gallant old Commodore, the man who said, ":I will not fire a gun upon my countrymen," as well as his company, was the recipient of every act of politeness and honor which could be tendered him by the citizens and military. Arrested. --Hiram Moulton, the brother and associate of Jno. Moulton, alias "Dr. Marobire," has been arrested in New Orleans. Both the parties, it will be recollected, ran off from Richmond, Va., after perpetrating numerous swindles, and though John was arrested, his accomplishes has never been discovered till now. He is a native of New Orleans, and ran away from there with a large amount of freight money from a steamer on which he was clerk. No under the name of Geo. C. Show.

The honor of Major General of the army of Florida has been conferred by the State Convention on Col. William H. Chase, the present Comander-in-Chief of the forces. A musket, bequeathed by the Rev. Theodore Parker, dec'd, to Massachusetts, was presented to the Legislature of that State by Gov, Andrews on Saturday. Hon. Jeff. Davis, of Miss., addressed the people of Bristol, Tenn., on the 25th inst., on his way home. Cassius M. Clay, of Ky., made a speech at Odd Fellows' Hall, in Washington city, Saturday night. Mathew Barkley was shot and killed by Jos. McAdams, at Leesburg, Tennessee, Saturday week.
