2. metaph., ἐ. κόνδυλόν τινι give him a drubbing, Plu.Alc.8, Luc.Prom.10:—Med., ἐντρίβεσθαί τινι πληγάς cause them to be given him, D.H.7.45; “ἐ. κακόν τινι” Luc.DDeor.20.2.
