A.make to go down, bring down, “τινὰ ἀπὸ τῆς πυρῆς” Hdt.1.87, cf. 86; “τοὺς ἐκ τοῦ καταστρώματος ἐς κοίλην νέα” Id.8.119; “στρατιώτας . . εἰς τὴν Χώραν τῶν Φρυγῶν” Hell.Oxy. 16.3; “τὴν πόλιν πρὸς τὴν θάλασσαν” Plu.Them.4; bring from town to country, Id.Cam.10; down into a mine, Th.7.86, Plu.2.262d: metaph., bring down, lower, “κ. σεαυτὸν ἀπὸ αὐχημάτων εἰς τὸ δημοτικώτερον” D.H.7.45:—Pass., “κωμῳδία -βιβασθεῖσα εἰς τὸ λογοειδές” Str.1.2.6.
