A.“κατέδομαι” Il.22.89, Od.21.363, Ar.Av.588: aor. κατέφαγον (v. καταφαγεῖν): pf. “κατεδήδοκα” Id.V.838, Pax386, etc.; part. “κατὰ . . ἐδηδώς” Il.17.542:—Pass., pf. “κατεδήδεσμαι” Pl.Phd.11oe, Antiph.161.3: aor. “κατηδέσθην” Pl.Com.35:—eat up, devour, in Hom. freq. of animals of prey, “λέων κατὰ ταῦρον ἐδηδώς” Il.17.542; of a serpent, [“νεοσσοὺς] κατήσθιε” 2.314, cf.
