A.conducting, escorting, guiding, A.Th.371, 855; “π. κῶπαιS.Tr.560; “πνοαίE.Hec.1290, Hel.1073; “π. δαίμωνId.Ph.984; π. ἔχειν τινά ib.1711 (lyr.): c. gen., φίλων π. χώρα a land that lends escort to friends, Id.Med.848 (lyr.); νόστου πόμπιμον τέλος the homesending end of one's return, i.e. one's safe return home, Pi.N.3.25.
