A.use up beforehand, “τοῖς ἐφοδίοις” Plu. Comp.Dion.Brut.1, cf. D.H.Rh.10.13, Aristid.Or.36 (48).103: pf., διὰ τὸ προκατακεχρῆσθαι (sc. τὰς ἐκκλησίας), in pass. sense, or (if ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις be supplied) in act. sense, D.19.154.
2. simply, employ first, “τῷ Καίσαρι ἔς τινα” App.BC3.51.
II. kill before, “ἑαυτόν” D.C.53.23.
