A.cake of roasted wheat and honey, Ephipp.8.3, cf. Trypho ap.Ath.3.114b; given to him who kept awake best during a παννυχίς, Call.Fr.2.6P.: hence, generally, meed of victory, prize, τοῦ γὰρ τεχνάζειν ἡμέτερος ὁ π. for stratagem 'we take the cake (or biscuit)', Ar.Th.94, cf. Eq.277.
