Od.16.28; “εἴ σφωϊν κραδίη ἅδοι” 20.327; Πηνελοπείῃ ἥνδανε μύθοισι pleased her with words, 16.398:—in ἁδόντα δ᾽ εἴη με τοι<*>ς ἀγαθοῖς ὁμιλεῖν the dat. belongs both to the part. and to the inf., Pi.P.2.96: abs., “τοῖσι δὲ πᾶσιν ἑαδότα μῦθον ἔειπε” Il.9.173, Od.18.422: c.acc., v. dub. in Thgn.26, E.Or.1607, both prob. corrupt readings.
II. in Hdt. ἁνδάνει expresses the opinion of a body of people, “οὔ σφι ἥνδανε ταῦτα” 7.172, cf. 9.5; “τοῖσι τὰ ἀμείνω ἑάνδανε” 9.19: c. inf., τοῖσι μὲν ἑ<*>δε βοηθέειν Ἀθηναίοισι 6.106, cf. 4.145,153, 201; so ἐπείνύ τοι εὔαδεν οὔτες (sc. “ποιεῖν᾽” Il.17.647, cf. Od.2.114:— “τὰ ϝεϝαδηκότα” quae placuerunt, IG9(1).334(Locr.).
