Aequi, Aequicŏli, Aequicŏlae, Aequiculāni
A people of Italy, dwelling in the upper valley of the Anio, in the mountains forming the
eastern boundary of Latium, and between the Latini, Sabini, Hernici, and Marsi. In conjunction
with the Volsci, who were of the same race, they carried on constant hostilities with Rome,
but were finally subdued in B.C. 302. One of their chief seats was Mount
Algidus.
