νεανικόν. Sometimes used in a bad sense, derived from the folly (not, as here, from the high spirit) of youth. ὁποἶ ἄττα γὰρ ἂν. The indefinite ἂν, with subjunctive, can only be separated from its relative or conjunction by little words like μέν, γάρ, &c. ὁποἶ ἄττα are regarded as one word, as in i. § 28, ὁποἶ ἄττ᾽ ἂν . . . περιστῇ. ταῦτα. Accusative after εἰπόντι, which here means “tell of,” not “say.” τῶν πεποιηκότων=ἢ τοῖς πεποιηκόσιν.
