Zeneus

or ZENIS (Ζηνεύς, Ζηνίς), of Chios wrote a work on his native country. (Athen. 13.601f.) As he is only mentioned in this passage of Athenaeus, it has been conjectured that the name may be a mistake, and that we ought to read Xenomedes, who was also an historian of Chios. [XENOMEDES.] (Müller, Fragm. Hist. Graec. vol. ii. p. 43, Paris, 1848.)

William Smith. A Dictionary of Greek and Roman biography and mythology. London. John Murray: printed by Spottiswoode and Co., New-Street Square and Parliament Street. In the article on Soranus, we find: "at this present time (1848)" and this date seems to reflect the dates of works cited. 1873 - probably the printing date.
