Gmeiner, John 1847-

Clergyman; born in Baernan, Bavaria, Dec. 5, 1847; came to the United States in 1849 with his parents, who settled in Milwaukee, Wis.; was ordained a Roman Catholic priest in 1870; became Professor of Ecclesiastical History and Homiletics in the Seminary of St. Francis of Sales, Milwaukee, in 1876. His publications include The Church and the various nationalities of the United States, etc.
