Harriman, Walter 1817-1884

Legislator; born in Warner, N. H., April 8, 1817; was several times elected to the State legislature. At the outbreak of the Civil War he entered the army as colonel of the 11th New Hampshire Regiment; served throughout the war, reaching the rank of brevet brigadier-general. He was elected secretary of state of New Hampshire in 1865, and governor in 1867. He was the author of a History of Warner, N. H. He died in Concord, N. H., July 25, 1884.
