Seeman, Berthold 1825-1871

Traveller; born in Hanover, Germany, Feb. 28, 1825; educated at the University of Gottingen. In 1846 [109] he was appointed naturalist on the British government vessel Herald, which made an exploring expedition around the world. He published Popular nomenclature of the American Flora, etc. He died in Nicaragua, Oct. 10, 1871.
