5 تصحّف ذ , said of a word, or an expression, It became altered [so as to have a meaning different from that intended by the application thereof, (see 2,) or] so as to be dubious. (Msb.) One says, تصحّف عَلَيْهِ لَفْظُ كَذَا [Such a word, or such an expression, became altered so as to be dubious to him]. (O, K. *)
