Hanging.

The constant threats of the Republican organs to ‘"hang the rebels"’ indicates a policy like that which was threatened at the beginning of the Revolutionary war by the minions of the British King. But the prompt retaliation of the rebels of that day in kind, soon put a speedy end to this savage mode of warfare. The first threat of hanging rebels that is executed will be followed by the hanging of Yankee prisoners; and so on, as long as they choose to continue the game, a life will go for a life, till the hemp crop of the South is exhausted, and there is no longer a grape vine left in the land.
