Sent on.

--Joseph Vernon, charged with unlawfully using Augustus Longinotti's head as a target and depositing therein a pistol ball on last Saturday week, on 17th street, was before the Mayor yesterday for an examination, which was had, and resulted in his being sent on to the Hustings Court on the second Monday in July, to answer an indictment by the Grand Jury for unlawful shooting. He was allowed to give bail for his appearance. It was at first thought that the lad had been struck by a stone, but the testimony adduced yesterday showed the contrary to be the case.
