The army worm.

--The army worm has appeared at Middletown, Conn. They swarmed in immense numbers, covering the ground with a wiggling mass, and squirming on ward with astonishing rapidity. An alarm was sounded, and the citizens came to the defence of the town, laid siege to the enemy, and soon hemmed them in with ditches filled with coal tar.--Northern paper.

A large number of army worms from Connecticut have arrived in Richmond lately.
