Tit for Tat.

--About the time of the secession of Virginia, Mr. Wilhelm Pollo, a gentleman of Teutonic birthright, suddenly left this city and his wife for parts unknown, taking with him a considerable amount of specie, according to her representations. He afterwards returned. On Monday morning Mr. Pollo called on Mayor Mayo, being in great tribulation, and demanded a warrant for the arrest of his wife, declaring that she had, without cause, left his bed and board, and carried off over $3,000 of his money, mostly, if not entirely, in $20 gold pieces, He also telegraphed to Lynchburg, to have her stopped there, and manifested the greatest fear lest should never again see his hoarded treasure, but was not particularly distressed at the prospect of losing his better half. He has not yet, so far as we have learned, received any tidings of the money or the woman.
