Mayor's Court.

--Yesterday formed an exception to the general rule, and the attendance at the Mayor's matinee was so meagre that even the most persevering of the sans culottes retired from the presence in evident disgust. There were two or three cases of violation of the ordinance for the regulation of bar rooms, all of which were continued. G. Ross was fined $10 for permitting negroes to assemble unlawfully on his premises; and three ‘ "misbehaving"’ darkeys were punished according to the magnitude of their offences. --‘"Is that all?"’ asked the Mayor, ‘"All,"’ responded four policemen, in a breath. ‘"Then bring out the big gun, and let mankind rejoice over this indication of the return of domestic peace."’ And the Court adjourned; and Mr. Hagan John took his departure for the Manchester batteries; and in an hour or two thereafter heavy reverberations were heard, and we suppose the big gun was fired.
