"Why will ye Die?"

--This is the title of a tract now being published by the Colportage and Publication Board, located in this city, from the pen of Rev. A. M. Poindexter, D. D., Corresponding Secretary of the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, one of the most popular and eloquent of our Southern divines. The reading of this tract reminds us of some of the most earnest and fervent appeals of Baxter and Alcine, and we predict for it an immense circulation. We understand that the same Society are expecting soon to publish tracts written by Rev. Wm. J. Hoge, of Charlottesville, Va; Rev. T. G. Jones, D. D., of Norfolk; Rev. W. F. Broaddus, D. D., of Fredericksburg, and Rev. H. H. Tucker, D. D., Professor of Ancient Languages in Mercer University, Georgia. We hail with delight every such publication. Long enough have we been relying upon the bloodthirsty clergy of the North for religious books. It will be worth all the war has cost us of treasure and of blood if the publications of the North can be superceded by the rich thoughts of our own divines.
