A policeman killed at Memphis.

--The Memphis Asaleacks of the 2d inst., says that a policeman named John Causey was stabbed through the heart and instantly killed, on Tuesday evening, the ult.:

The murder was committed by a man named Wm. J. Morrill, at the corner of Main and Gayoso streets, hear 8 o'clock, and under the following circumstances. On Christmas night Morrill assailed and stabbed, about the same locality, a man named John Borgiana. Berglana engaged John Crusey and Wm. Kelly, day policemen, to look after and arrest Morrill, While going home on Tuesday night, Causey discovered Morrill in a barber shop, called him out, told him the offence he was charged with, and that he was his prisoner. Morrill desired to be permitted to go off on some pretext, and way refused, when he drew a knife, and stabbing him through the heart, made his escape. The set was witnessed by several persons, but not in time to secure the murderer. Causey never spoke, but died immediately.
