North Carolina.

Although rumor has been industrious in representing an advance of the enemy from Newberns, there seems to be no reliable information of a forward movement, and the common impression is that none has been made. It is conjectured that the storm along the coast has deranged the place of the enemy, if it has not damaged materially his gunboats and transports.
