Specie and Bank Notes.--The quotations of specie are unchanged.
Business continued on a small scale in consequence of the light offerings.
We quote $7.50 premium as the asking rate and $6.75a7 as the buying rate.--Bank notes are higher.
We now quote at $1a1.05 premium.
Bonds and Stocks.--Messrs. Lancaster &Co's quotations to-day are: Confederate bonds, 100 M., 102½a109½ and int; do., 15 M. coupon, 200 and int; do do. registered, 125 and interest; do. do.
sevens, 100 and int; Va regis'd stock 131 and int, Va sixes, two coupons on, 210; Tenn do., 3 coupons on, 220; N. Carolina sixes, new, 134 and int. no recent sales of old issues; do. do.
eights at 135 and int; Bank of Richmond, 110; Ins Co. State of Va., 42; Merchants' Ins Co. 95; Clover Hill R R. Co., 200; R & Y R. R. bonds, 110; Imp'g and Exp'g Co, $2000; Old Dominion Trading Co., $7,500.
Produce, Provisions, &c.--Bacon — we quote hoground at $1.50 per lb. Beans, $12a $15 per bushel.
Butter, $1.50 per lb. Dried Fruit--Apples, $10a11, Peaches, $15 per bushel.
Eggs. $1.50a1.75 per dozen.
Forage — Hay, $8a10 per 100 lbs; Sheaf Oats the same, Peas, $12a15 per bushel.
Potatoes — very few in market; we quote them at $8a10 per bushel.
Corn, $10 per bushel.
Corn Meal, $11a12 per bushel.
Flour — Superfine, $31a32, Extra, $33a34; Family, $35a36 per bbl. Oats, $6 per bushel.
Wheat, $6.50a7. Lard, $1.50 per lb.
Groceries.--Sugar, $1.40a1.55.
Coffee, $3.60a4.15.
Molasses, $9.50a10 per gallon.
Salt. 45c per lb. Rice, 16a20c per lb. Candles, $2.75a3 per lb. Soap, 50a85a.
Tobacco.--For the last week the breaks of tobacco have increased, and prices are firm.
We quote inferior Lugs at $10a12.50; good do, $16a18 to 20; fine bright do, $25a35; inferior Leaf, $30a35; good do, $45a50; fine Manufacturing, $75a150; fine bright wrappers, $170a$225; English Shipping, $50a65. This text is part of:
