via Chickamauga, Oct. 4th.

Another day of quiet. The Yankees are still working on their outer lines.

There is no doubt that Rosecrans has been reinforced, as there is another long line of tents visible this morning.

Gen. Adams is still in the hands of the enemy. He will be exchanged as soon as he can bear removal. The weather here is clear and cool.
