Hustings Court

--The following parties were examined and sent on for trial before Judge Lyons: Joseph Needham, for stealing a horse from Edward Griffin; Enoch Pettus, for stealing a horse from Edward Moore; and $73 in Confederate notes from John T Townsend.

Jim, slave of Robert Trower, was found guilty of stealing a trunk and clothing from Dr. Alexander N Talley, and ordered thirty-nine lashes on this day and the same on Saturday next, and then to be committed for going at large. Andrew, slave of Elizabeth Carner, was ordered thirty-nine lashes for receiving two diamond studs from Jim, the same having been stolen from Dr. Talley.

Jas E Goodwyn. charged with stealing a cow from Mrs. Mary Meeds, was examined and acquitted.
