A.mock, used by Hom. only in part., τὸν δ᾽ ἐπικερτομέων προσέφης in mockery, Il.16.744, Od.22.194, cf. Luc.DMort.14.5, Hld.8.9; in milder sense, laughingly, Il.24.649 (or, in mockery of Agamemnon).
II.. c. acc., ἐπεκερτόμησε he reproached him, Hdt. 8.92; τινός for a thing, Agath.5.22; tease, banter, Theoc.20.2, cf. Luc.Bis Acc.12.
