Cummings, Amos Jay

Journalist; born Conkling, N. Y., May 15, 1841; enlisted in the National army at the beginning of the Civil War, and participated in the battles of Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville. After the war he was connected with the New York Tribune and the New York Sun, and has been a Democratic Representative in Congress since 1886.
