Ellmaker, Amos, 1787-1851

Jurist; born in New Holland, Pa., Feb. 2, 1787; admitted to the bar in 1808; elected to the State legislature in 1812; appointed district judge in 1815; attorney-general of the State in 1816; was candidate for Vice-President on the Anti-Masonic ticket in 1832. He died in Lancaster, Pa., Nov. 28, 1851.
