Garden, Alexander 1757-1829

Military officer; born in Charleston, S. C., Dec. 4, 1757; was educated abroad; returning to America, he entered the Continental army in 1780; was promoted lieutenant in February, 1782. He was the author of Anecdotes of the Revolutionary War, with sketches of character of persons most distinguished in the Southern States for Civil and military services. He died in Charleston, Feb. 29, 1829.
