Hillis, George Morgan 1825-

Clergyman; born in Auburn, N. Y., Oct. 10, 1825; graduated at Trinity College in 1847; ordained in the Protestant Episcopal Church in 1851. After being rector in Watertown and Syracuse, N. Y., he was called to St. Mary's Church, Burlington, N. J., in 1870. His publications include The transfer of the Church from colonial dependence to the freedom of the republic; John Talbot, the first Bishop in North America; The missions of the Church of England in New Jersey, etc.
