Judson, Harry Pratt 1849-

Educator; born in Jamestown, N. Y., Dec. 20, 1849; graduated at Williams College in 1870; called to the chair of History at the University of Minnesota in 1885; and was made head Professor of Political Science, and dean of the faculties of Arts, Literature, and Science at the University of Chicago in 1892. He is the author of History of the Troy citizens' Corps; Caesar's army; Europe in the nineteenth century; The growth of the American nation; The higher education as a training for business; The Latin in English; The Mississippi Valley (in the United States of America, by Shaler); and The young American, etc.
