Horrible murder.

--A bloody tragedy took place in New York Friday morning, about 10 o'clock, resulting in the death of Mrs. Sarah Shank, a widow lady, about 45 years of age.--She was the proprietor of a milliner store, and her breakfast had been brought to her from a neighboring restaurant, at 8 o'clock, the waiter who brought it leaving her sitting at the breakfast table. Two hours after, one of her work girls came into the shop, and going into the back room, found the proprietress lying on the floor with her throat cut, skull broken and various other wounds on her person. The floor was covered with blood, and the bed clothing was stained with the prints of the murderer's hands where he had wiped the stains from them. She was engaged to be married to two gentlemen, with one of whom, Charles Hardy, she had quarreled. She had several hundred dollars in the house, all of which was stolen. Hardy has been arrested.
