Yankee deserters.

--A considerable batch of Federal deserters came into our lines yesterday, and were forwarded to this city. We overheard a conversation held with some of them, in which they stated that they would not have been in the army had they not been plied with liquor pretty freely, and in that state forced to enlist; that as soon as they became sober they determined to desert; had never fired a gun at our boys, and a great deal of other stuff entitled to about as much consideration as that enunciated. They were very properly committed as prisoners to Castle Thunder.
