We copy the following from the Washington telegraphic correspondence of the New York Herald, dated the 20th inst.: Lord Lyons has had two confidential conferences to-day with Mr. Seward, but up to 11 o'clock to-night no written formal communication has been had, and no demand whatever has yet been made upon our Government by the British minister. The conferences between Lord Lyons and Mr. Seward were of the most cordial and friendly character. Capt. Seymour, the Queen's messenger, did not return in the Africa, as was intended. The America's mails are anxiously looked for by our Government, as well as by Lord Lyons, and it is not unlikely that his Lordship will withhold his demand upon our Government until the arrival.
