It is to be hoped they will not be caught napping again. The classic halls of Washington College are now dreary indeed, but there is still some life at the V. M. I — probably 150 University students, short term and regular cadets, being present. Their whole time is devoted to the study of tactics and military science. Several families of refugees from Alexandria and other places in our State have found this place to be a delightful resort;
