Mylae

Μυλαί). A town on the eastern part of the north coast of Sicily, founded by Zanclé (Messana), and situated on a promontory running out into the sea. It was off Mylae that C. Duilius won his victory over the Carthaginians in B.C. 260, and that Agrippa defeated the fleet of Sex. Pompeius (B.C. 36).
