Vice President Stephens

--Hon. A. H. Stephens was in Danville, Va., Monday, and left Wednesday for the South. He visited the hospitals while there. Monday night Mr. Stephens was serenaded by a large body of citizens and disabled soldiers, and responded. He reviewed hastily the present condition of the country, and bade the people be of good cheer, as the loss of Vicksburg and other less important places was by no means so disastrous so many person supposed. He expressed an unshaken faith in the ultimate success of our cause.
