Progress of the Siege of Washington.

We have news from Washington, D. C, as late as the 15th inst. Heavy cannonading was going on there then, and had been heard during the two days previous. As several heavy guns had been mounted by the Confederates, it is supposed the bombardment had commenced. The reraise of the Yankee forces at Blount creek, while attempting to reach Washington, seems to have been an utter rout. The Yankees admit having had 12,000 men there, but deny that more than three regiments were engaged. They put down their killed and wounded at 300. They had eighteen horses and two men drowned by the foundering of a boat in crossing the Nouse from Barrington's Ferry to Newbern, on the retreat from Blount's creek. It is reported that they are 25,000 strong at Newbern, and are being still further reinforced.
