SIBIDUNDA
(Bozova, formerly Zivint) Turkey.
Site in Pisidia 18 km N of Korkuteli. Recorded by
Hierokles (Sindaunda) and the Byzantine bishopric lists;
the coinage extends from M. Aurelius to Gordian III.
The site, proved by the survival of the name and by an
inscription found on the spot, is on a low flat hill without fortification. Good squared blocks and foundations
are frequently exposed by digging; sherds of Roman date
are abundant, but nothing is standing. About 1.6 km to
the E, and underground, is a well-preserved built tomb.
Inscriptions are not scarce and include an imperial rescript concerning forgeries in business contracts.
