CLAUDII, DOMUS

on the Quirinal, near the thermae Constantini and the modern Palazzo Saeripante, where lead pipes inscribed with the names of T. Flavius Claudius Claudianus 1 and Claudia Vera c.f. (CIL xv. 7450, 7434) seem to indicate a house of the patrician Claudii. Here was also found a mosaic of a ship entering a harbour (BC 1878, 276; Cons. 268; Pros. ii. 66. 168; RE vi. 2356; BA 1925, 163, n. 33). Cf. BALNEUM CLAUDIANUM.

1 Sec ib. 7785: T. Flavi Claudiani c.v., found at Campo Iemini, near Ardea.
