anthypŏphŏra , ae, f., = ἀνθυποφορά,
I.a rhetorical figure in which one anticipates the arguments of his antagonist, and refutes them, Sen. Contr. 1, 7 (in Quint. 9, 2, 106, and id. 9, 3, 87, written as Greek, Halm).
