Melia
(
Μελία). A nymph, daughter of Oceanus, who became by
Inachus the mother of Phoroneus and Aegialeus; by Silenus, the mother of the centaur
Pholus (q.v.); by Poseidon, the mother of Amycus; and by
Apollo, the mother of Ismenus and of the prophet Tenerus. She was worshipped at Thebes in the
Ismenium.
