SO´NTIA
SO´NTIA (Eth.
Sontinus:
Sanza), a town of Lucania, known only from Pliny. who enumerates the Sontini among the municipal towns of that province (
Plin. Nat. 3.11. s. 15).
It is probable that it is the same place now called
Sanza, situated in the mountains about 12 miles N. of the
Gulf of Policastro. [
