Thuge'nides
（
Θουγενίδης), a comic poet of unknown age, whose name is only found in a few passages of the grammarians in most of which it has been corrupted into
Thucydides. The remains of his poetry consist of one title.
Δικασταί, one complete line, and a few words (Suid.
s. v. τριαχθῆναι, and perhaps
s. v. ὰνέσπακεν; Phot. Lex.
s. vv. μὴ νόμισον,
τριαχθῆναι; Pollux, 6.38; Zonar;
Lex. s. v. Δειβήθριοι; Antiatt. p 114. 22; Pierson,
ad Mocrin, 334 ; Porson,
ad Eurip. Hecub. 1166 ; Meineke,
Frag. Com. Graec. vol. i. p. 499. vol. iv. pp. 593, 594; Editio Minor, p. 1183). Fabricius has wrongly made Thugenides a tragic poet. (
