Xe'nia

（*Ceni/a), and the masculine Xenios are epithets of Athena and Zeus, describing then as presiding over the laws of hospitality, and protecting strangers. (Lat. Hospitalis ; Paus. 3.11, in fin.; Hom. Od. 14.389; Cic. ad Q. Frat. 2.12.)

In the article on Soranus, we find: "at this present time (1848)" and this date seems to reflect the dates of works cited. 1873 - probably the printing date.
