مَأْخَذْ ذ [A place where, or whence, a thing is taken: pl. مَآخِذُ.] [Hence,] مَآخِذُ الطَّيْرِ The places whence birds are taken. (K, TA.) ― -b2- [The source of derivation of a word or phrase or meaning.] ― -b3- A way [which one takes]; as in the phrase, المَأْخَذَ الأَقْرَبَ سَلَكَ He went the nearest way. (Msb. in art. خصر.) ― -b4- [See also 2, last sentence but one.]
